About the Men's League

The Agincourt Lions Mens Hockey was created and formed in 1979 by Bill Pinder. Bill, a member of Agincourt Lions Club, felt there was a need in the community for men of all ages to be able to compete together, without fear of deliberate malice from opposing players.

Bruce Taylor, who was the Agincourt Arena Complex Manager at the time, helped form the League by providing a regular phone during the day to help fill the registrations in the first year. The Agincourt Lions Youth Hockey Executive backed this idea by providing the original ice time required and by donating the first trophy for the playoff champs. The Lions Club of Agincourt also supported this project and thus the affiliation and the name of the League (Agincourt Lions). To show the affiliation, the League colours are green, black, and or white. The League has always been and continues to be a non profit organization.
